Cymarians
Homeword: Cymar (Type M)
Type: Reptillian Bipedial
Average Height: 5.5 to 7 feet
Average weight: 200 lbs
Colorings: Earth tones with circular markings, Dull to bright plumage with small fibrous feathers on head.
Features: Prehensile tail, non retractable clawed feet, retractable claws on hands, enhanced vision and hearing.
Weaknesses: Primal urges, Susceptible to EM fields, prejudice from other races.
Archetype : "Those that are strong rule the week." That was the first line from the perverted teachings of Cymar, and how the Cymarians ruled their empire for the better part of four thousand years. Those teachings were abandoned on the day of retribution over one hundred years ago. The destruction and subsequent crash of the "Transcendence" in orbit of Cymar changed everything. That day 70 percent of all life on the jungle world was destroyed. From those ashes a new generation of Cymarians were born. Those dedicated to creating a equal environment for every species. One where life was valued equally.
The Cymarians were not savages by any stretch of the imagination, but their evolution on the harsh jungle world ingrained in them the need to subjugate the weak. The weak could not survive alone without the strong. They were and still are predators after all, still longing for the hunt.
Many are turning to the mystic teaching of their past, balancing their seething instincts with that of a strict discipline of mental control. The Order of the Claw, once the secretive secret police force for the Empire, has been reborn as well. Now more akin to the classic Ranger class, and open to all races. Their training is rigorous and those that do not fail, are well respected within the Alliance.
Most races watch every move the Cymarian's make with a great deal of suspicion. While they welcome the change in their once ruler's attitude, they feel they might slip back into their old ways.
Prey'kar Naret'kai of the Lost Horizon shares his views on the other races:
Arthen(Canine) : Their noble, much as we would like to become in time. They think well before they act, however sometimes they think too long.
Korath(Feline) : Gentle Spirits. They stood beside us and were the first to lend a claw in our time of need. We will never be able to repay them for help. The Empire was a fool for what it do to them...
Keraja(Rodent) : They are resourceful in the extreme. Give them a burnt out plasma coil and a light switch, and they can have a working warp drive in less than an hour. Their contributions are invaluable.
Kyris(Mustline) : The made the most vocal decrying of our race after the great cataclysm, and seemed reluctant to join the Alliance when offered. They have plans within plans, and who truly knows what they plot
Laurne : They are much like who we were. Conquerors, but at what cost? What of passion, what of anger, hate, love sadness, and all other emotions. They have given up much, to much to be where they are.
Atlantian : Perhaps a future ally if they can see past their short sighted wars and blind actions. Their openly portray the vision of being a free society, but behind the veil there is to many secrets.
Yoshiru(Lapine) : They only recently came to us and have been a great boon to the Alliance. They personify Honor, and service. But if you end up on the wrong end of their blade, you are most likely to soon past beyond this world.
Shaie'theeHumanoid) : Interesting beings. What they lack in physical prowess, the make up for in creativity. As a whole their species can adapt to nearly any situation, it is a pity there is not more of their race.
Borg : Nightmares manifested into a mass of moving metal and flesh. No passion, no individuality, they are cold calculating killing machines. At least pray that they kill you, the other fate is not spoken of.
