Korath – Feline
Homeword: Muhira (Type M)
Type: Feline Bipedal
Average Height: 4.9 to 6 feet
Average weight: 120 lbs
Colorings: Running the gambit from white to black, red, brown, orange, and even some more exotic colors of blue and green.
Features: Enhanced Vision, retractable claws on hand and foot paws, Feline tail. Markings ranging from spots to stripes
Weaknesses: Physically weaker than most races, Innate curiosity.
Archetype : One of the first races to lend aid to the Cymarians, was also one of the first races conquered by them as well. Their home world is a mere six light years away from Cymar, and once the Cymarian race showed a successful test of their Warp Drive, the Korath made first contact. They had ventured into space over three hundred years before the Cymarians had. They were unprepared when the Cymarians brutally struck out a decade later.
Curious by nature, the Korath make wonderful explorers, wanderers and scientists. Sometimes however their curiosity can get the better of them, almost in cliché. Everything from getting over their heads in a new situation, to the occasional explosion in a lab caused by someone wanting to "see what this does!"
They are gentle in their dealing with other races, almost stepping on eggshells to placate someone. But after centuries of Cymarian rule, they have grown more direct in their dealings with other cultures.
They have a rich heritage of both music and the arts, spanning hundreds of centuries back into their primal past. Many of their race seem to be driven to paint, sculpt or some other visual or audio art in their free time. Some of the best entertainment and holo-novels come from the Korath.
After the great disaster on Cymar, the Korath quickly moved in to help stabilize the planet. Convincing the Arthen that they could change the face of the universe by helping the Cymarians they formed a pact to remake their existence. Together with the Arthen, and the newer generation of Cymarians. They formed the Alliance. Spearheading the campaign to recruit other races the Korath were successful in restoring nearly all the empire worlds back into the alliance.
Mahari K'reesha shares her tidbits on the other races, just in case if you were wondering:
Arthen (Canine) : It was good fortune that we were able to convince the Arthen about the Cymarians. Thankfully they could see the repercussions of what was to be in far more detail than we could.
Cymarians: Our former rulers? What's to say really. They are not the same people they were three generations ago. I am glad to call them friend.
Keraja(Rodent) : And people call us curious! Regardless of that fact, their ingenious. All I know is that my ship better have a few of them on it when things get tight.
Kyris(Mustline) : Oh, my I could go on for hours here. They were the last race to join the Alliance from the original worlds. They may be allies, *whispering* I wouldn't give one a phaser.
Laurne : And to THINK we share a few common Genomes! I tell you, Their talk of Memory and Realase make me sick. Everyone thinks that the Cymarians are to fear, but I tell you, The Laurne, they frighten me,
Atlantian : Oh them? I know they are a few thousand light years away, but as far as I am concerned their still finding their footing. I just wish they would leave the temporal research to the professionals.
Yoshiru(Lapine) : If there is any race that gives the Alliance a new hope it is this race. They didn't know the old Cymar, and have formed a many new friendships with the member races. Their strong, and we are glad to know them.
Shaie'thee(Humanoid) : Another race that did not know of the Empire. Their pretty much a jack of all trades as a whole. Good people the lot of them, They make me laugh as well. Great sense of humor.
Borg : Borg...WHERE! *ducks*
